Memorial Services

Remembering a life, in your own time and your own way

Following a direct cremation, families sometimes choose to hold a memorial service at a later date.

A memorial gives family and friends the opportunity to come together, share memories and properly celebrate the life of someone they love, without the ceremony needing to take place at the time of the cremation.

It can be held weeks or even months after the death and can take place at a venue that is special to you.

This might be:

  • A family home or garden
  • A village or community hall
  • A hotel or other private venue
  • A place connected with the person who has died
  • Another location that has special meaning

A memorial service can include music, readings, photographs, video tributes, personal stories, family contributions and a eulogy.

It can be formal, informal, intimate or a celebration shared with a large gathering of family and friends.

There is no timetable for remembering someone. A memorial allows you to say goodbye when the time feels right for you.
