Meaningful ceremonies
Every ceremony tells a story.
I believe your ceremony should reflect your loved ones story, and the things that matter most.
As an independent celebrant based in Worthing, I create and conduct personal ceremonies throughout West Sussex and East Sussex.
There is no one-size-fits-all ceremony. I will take the time to get to know you, listen to your wishes and create something that feels authentic, personal and meaningful.
Funeral Services
A personal farewell, reflecting a life well lived
Saying goodbye to someone we love is one of life’s most difficult moments.
A funeral ceremony should be more than simply a collection of dates and facts. It should tell the story of a person’s life, their character, their achievements, their relationships, the things they enjoyed and the memories they leave behind.
I work closely with families to create a warm, personal and fitting farewell, incorporating the music, readings, poems, memories and contributions that are important to you.
Whether the service is traditional, contemporary, quiet or filled with laughter and memories, I will help you create a ceremony that truly reflects the person you are remembering.
Plan Your Own Funeral Ceremony
As a funeral celebrant, I’ve seen how comforting it is for families when they know exactly what their loved one wanted for their farewell.
• Do you want any particular songs, music or hymns?
• A poem, a prayer, a story told?
• A quiet gathering, or a joyful celebration?
Talking about your funeral wishes might feel uncomfortable, but it’s one of the greatest gifts you can leave behind.
It lifts a huge emotional burden from your family and ensures your service reflects your life, values, wishes, and personality.
Memorial Services
Remembering a life, in your own time and your own way
Following a direct cremation, families sometimes choose to hold a memorial service at a later date.
A memorial gives family and friends the opportunity to come together, share memories and properly celebrate the life of someone they love, without the ceremony needing to take place at the time of the cremation.
It can be held weeks or even months after the death and can take place at a venue that is special to you.
The Interment of Ashes
A separate interment of ashes, or scattering of ashes service can then take place with family and friends gathering at the burial plot/location, based on the wishes, beliefs and values of the person who has died and their family or friends.
It may include readings, poems and prayers, but equally it may have no religious content.
The interment of ashes’ creates a permanent place, where all those who knew the deceased can pay their respects.
Photo Slideshows & Visual Tributes
A photo slideshow or visual tribute can be a beautiful part of a funeral, memorial service or celebration of life.
Photographs have a wonderful way of telling a story. They can take us back to childhood, family celebrations, holidays, special occasions and those everyday moments that become treasured memories.
As part of my celebrant services, I can create a personalised photo slideshow or visual tribute for your loved one, ready to be played during the ceremony.
Your Ceremony, Your Way
There are no rules about what your ceremony has to look like.
It can be traditional or modern. Formal or relaxed. Quiet and intimate, include humour or a celebration of life.
It can include your favourite music, meaningful readings, personal promises, family traditions, photographs, stories and the people who are important to you.
Most importantly, it should feel like your loved one.
My role is to listen, guide and bring your ideas together into a ceremony that is personal, memorable and meaningful.
Let's Create Something Meaningful
The first step is simply having a conversation.
Tell me your ideas, your plans or even if you don’t know where to begin.
I can talk you through the possibilities and help you create a ceremony that feels right for you.
